A Shadow's Tale game test on wii

Lurking in the shadows of big year-end outputs, A Shadow's Tale is not intended to resemble the blockbusters filled with shocking images and action scenes breathtaking. Instead, it is inspired by the dreamlike quality of Ico that Hudson Soft has good reach an audience sensitive to the poetry and magic. Bet more than succeeded!

Do not think for as much as A Shadow's Tale merely aping the masterpiece of Fumito Ueda. If the environment and visual style are easily think of Ico, the gameplay is quite different. To understand this, we must already begin with the story. You are a young man trapped atop a gigantic tower. For reasons still unknown, a executioner cut your shadow and throws down below the building. The player will have to control the back shade to the many floors to find his body. That's the end of the pitch. But as short as it is, it has implications on the amazing gameplay.

For not being a physical presence, you can not have interaction with solid objects. Your only way to move is to move to the shadows of the scenery! Suffice to say that the first minute of play are quite shocking, and it takes a little time to adapt before you control the movement. Indeed, the position of platforms and traps depend on the surface on which the shadows are reflected. On the other hand, the advantage is that two objects that are not at all close to the foreground may have shadows side by side, forming a bridge. So you understand the basic principle of A Shadow's Tale, but there arises a multitude of elements gameplay...

First, it will be possible thanks to a little fairy named Spangle (do not worry, it is silent ...), move real objects to change the location of their shadows, creating a passage or platform. To do this, via your Wiimote, You should set a specific point on the screen. While this might seem tedious to some, know that you'll always know when to use Spangle. You will not have to point the screen every two seconds to find mechanisms to activate. Another important point is the possibility in some areas to change the position of the light source either vertically or horizontally. This has a considerable effect on the shadows, and what seemed like an insurmountable wall can be transformed into a beautiful opening in your eyes! In short, A Shadow's Tale strikes quickly by the incredible ingenuity of its gameplay.
