Anyone who has installed Vista knows about compatibility issues with games released for Windows XP. Some games, like
Need For Speed: Carbon, will only run after a compatibility mode change if you have 32bit. Vista x64 works without compatibility mode as long as you have a decent video card.
Right click the Need For Speed: Carbon executable
Click 'Properties.'
Click the 'Compatibility' tab.
Check the box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'.
Select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)"Click 'Ok'.
Play the game.
