PixelJunk Shooter 2 Test

While most conventional shooters lead us to the stars, it is rather the depths of an unknown planet that takes us through the series of PixelJunk Shooter. One remembers that the first episode we had already conquered and so this was expected due to firmer footing. The latter does not disappoint: it not only revives the recipe that makes the charm of its predecessor, but it also brings a few small additions quite delightful.
Let us begin by recalling that the first PixelJunk Shooter was far from being a shooter like the others. Released in late 2009 on the PSNThis way we could direct a ship that was going to the rescue of a team of space colonists trapped in the maze of a mine in the outer space ... If this was obviously face some enemies determined to send you lethal projectiles, the interest of the game was its level design ingenious and the possibilities of interactions between the different elements that constitute levels. You could for example turn the lava stone by pouring water on it. He had to think before they act to make sure you clear a safe path to the poor survivors. Finally recall that the first episode ended in a fish tail: after the battle against boss end, your ship is made simply by swallowing a giant bug ...
This suite includes immediately where the previous installment left us: the entire first chapter takes place in the bowels of this huge monster. If the handling remained the same, teams of Q-Games have used this context to introduce some new features. Thus, novel substances are introduced: the gut of the beast we will find tough enough stomach acid, bubbles very slippery, or even parasite eggs that are multiplying at great speed, V. You will end sooner or later come out of this horrible creature, but it will not mean the end of your surprises ... New enemies also have the opportunity to make their appearance: they are not only slightly more numerous than in the first episode, but they are especially more dangerous. One notices such strange blue balls that swing pretty patterns clearly inspired dumplings that can be seen in manic shooters. There is no doubt, this episode is a little less oriented thinking and a little more action oriented than its predecessor. That does not mean he will not take you scratching your head from time to time. The arrival of new skills effectively means the emergence of new types of puzzles. We discover such as the ability to crunch some boulders and pushing another in which we exploited to provide levels that pay homage to the famous Boulder Dash.
PixelJunk Shooter 2 is literally packed with little surprises in the same kind and we really ecstatic at the ingenuity of its designers. Unfortunately, the campaign of this sequence is not longer than that of its predecessor: it consists only of three chapters with five levels each. Note nonetheless that the difficulty of this sequence is much more upright and you will certainly be a little more time to see the end. It's always a pleasure to do or redo the different levels in cooperation with a friend, but the novelty of this suite is also a way to offer competitive online. He is facing another player while trying to rescue survivors or preventing your opponent from achieving its rescues. Specifically one plays the role of the rescuer must be discreet and to successfully pass between the cracks of the defender. In fact, you do not see your enemy as long as it is in your field of vision ... There is also an experience system that lets you gradually unlock new skills for your ship and access to other environments. This multiplayer mode is not as imaginative as the single player but it still promises a few skirmishes pretty fun. In the end, this sequel is a worthy successor to the first game and we just prove so masterful that the shooter is still a genre rich who can demonstrate creativity and originality.
