Call Of Juarez: The Cartel

Following indirect Call Of Juarez Bound In Blood, The Cartel us on a journey into a dark investigation and violent in the spirit of road movies Hollywood. Three cops on a crusade against the drug cartels which will trace a route from Los Angeles to bloody Juarez. But wait a second, cops? No sheriff? The drug cartels? It is still the Wild West?

Series Call Of Juarez has quickly made a place in the sun in the ruthless world of FPS. Developers Polish Techland posed action in a Wild West that was changing lanes exotic space station and other ruins from the Middle East. With Call Of Juarez: The CartelThe studio takes up the challenge to translate this atmosphere in a contemporary environment. The case can not explain the logic of this bias although purists certainly regret that choice. This third episode in the saga of the McCall family still retains much in common with its predecessors. The title will offer a scenario very mature (with a PEGI 18 assumed), under the sign of the fittest. The influences of TV shows like The Shield or Sons Of Anarchy are quite palpable, and there are even 24H for sequences of interrogation tough enough. Choosing a contemporary context also helps to provide a more modern arsenal and varied as the environments. Vehicles are also emerging and we regret the absence of motorcycles that could stick to the cowboy spirit.
The scenario Call Of Juarez: The Cartel  shows three bad boys, three cops from three different services, all at war against the drug barons. Member of the DEA, Eddie Guerra is the hunk of history. A bit fitter, but also big player. Ben McCall is the younger son of Ray (one of two brothers Bound In Blood). A pastor's son with unorthodox methods. Finally Kim Evans, is an FBI agent who drags an ambitious but troubled past relations with the gangs. So they all have a shadow in their history, a dark side to be operated during the main survey. If the frame is identical, the fact that embody one or the other of the protagonists will provide access to specific events (presumably secondary objectives and secrets). During the demo, we could see Eddie get a phone call without the knowledge of other players. The icing on the cake, you can live the adventure in cooperation with three simultaneously.

Lonesome Cowboy? Threesome cowboy!

During the presentation at the premises of Ubisoft publisher of the game again, unfortunately we could not get their hands on the joystick, but the discovery of two levels allowed us to give us a clear idea about the potential of the title. The first level revealed plunges us into an urban comprehensive. The streets are busy and our three friends are in hideout down a building for a wiretap. What follows is a sequence of spinning drive that enables us to appreciate the attention to detail at each corner. Then it's time for a first confrontation with bouncers. In good cop, you do not cool anything that moves and is an opportunity to show that you know also play their fists in a fight where you alternate attacks and counters. The accumulation of such details, and typical of these sequences contributes to a warm fleece under. is not an FPS, much less a military tactical shooter since does not order the AI alone.
The cooperative mode therefore fills one of the weaknesses of the previous episode, which lent itself yet. We also announced a system of  Drop In Drop Out on the fly to get a running game. Both levels showed revealed that while the game is designed to be played at three. Thus, we find the simultaneous inputs (Breach in) That trigger a firing sequence in slow motion. Mode composure activated individually, but all players is concerned. Finally, the addition of suppressive fire can grow blankets blankets while your partner draws the attention of enemies. After a series of gunfights nervous in a crowded nightclub, the level ended with a chase on the highway where, again, the coop was in the spotlight, one leading the other two strafing. The second level meanwhile took place in the desert, and could see the potential of an asymmetric scenario where our three cops must support each other. While Ben had to survive an appointment trap, both associates of distilled sniper fire from the heights of the hills before they surprised themselves for a gunfight between cactus and rocks, in the purest spirit wild west!
