Gemini Rue for PC

The first images and trailer Gemini Street have certainly had the same effect on all players who have known and loved adventure games of the 90s. All have felt a twinge in his heart, followed by a glimmer of hope to one day have a new bunch of pixels to be searched to find a sticky paper or why not a tiny red flag. With its completion retro Gemini Street can hardly hide his influences drawn from the point and click adventures from Lucas, Sierra and Delphine. The question now is whether it lives up or uses them only to tickle our fiber nostalgic. Before diving into the full test, it is worth recalling the history of Gemini Street. Not the game, but behind the game that some elaboration as Gemini Street is mainly the work of one student and that this is his third game - the first to know about such "popularity". Like its two predecessors, Gemini Street might well have remained confidential and never exceed a small circle of insiders. Yes, but here, the title won in 2010 a prize in a festival of independent games, and caught the eye of Wadjet Eye Games editor who decided to take the project under his wing. Professional actors are hired for dubbing the characters and the promotional machine turns on, hence the video mentioned in the introduction and our decision to test the title to share our opinions about the product.Very film noir at heart, Gemini Street takes us in yet a future where interplanetary travel are common to travel across the galaxy. The game opens in a medical laboratory. Tied to a chair, a man apparently on drugs undergoes force brainwashed. Who is he? Who are the doctors around him? Why he does it erase the memory? All these questions will be answered until much later. In the immediate future, the adventure begins pouring rain, accompanied by some Azriel Odin. With its waterproof, its casualness and especially the fact that he is looking for someone, the character goes to a private detective to whom he would certainly felt that finally the head. Azriel, however, is not a detective. It is simply looking for his brother and the contact he was to meet tonight is not there to give him the necessary pipe. The first moments of the game has already gone on the famous spot contact, then follow the trail of the missing brother for years. This mission will not, however, your only concern since early in the adventure, the game suddenly switches to the first set, one of the laboratory of the introduction. The action starts soon after lobotomy and the player controls this time the poor victim, a Delta Six to believe the voices that spew the speakers. It takes no more than a few seconds to realize that we are in a testing center, closer to jail than the rest room CNRS. Detained for some reason he ignores, Delta Six follows the instructions of his doctor and attended daily training programs to firearms, the only way for him to win meal vouchers to use in the canteen. So here we have two characters with the ability to move at will (almost) from one to another. The two heroes are very different as well as their environments, and almost the way they play. One thing is common to both stories: the success with which Gemini Street manages to draw us into his world black and depressing. For Azriel, the sets are dark, damp, filthy almost as it evolves in a city controlled by a mafia group. For Delta Six, we are in a much more sterile, when it does not seem to have much to do. To be honest, the first moments with the detainee are destabilizing because the prisoner's routine takes precedence over the player and one feels almost compelled to follow the directions given by the doctor. There is however a bit more to do than it appears in the center. One example in the company of Delta Six the player become familiar with one of the smaller components added to gameplay point and click traditional. So here we have two characters with the ability to move at will (almost) from one to another.
