Super Street Fighter IV - PS3

A few years ago, you could hear the bad language we announce the death of 2D fighting games. These louts are quiet today, and for good reason, gender has rarely been so good. Thus Capcom surfs on the success of the fourth installment of the Street Fighter series to offer us a supercharged version of this episode.

While Soulcalibur and Tekken appeared to have imposed a small world in 3D fighting game, the securities offering gameplay 2D resume the perks of late. If Street Fighter, the license lighthouse of its kind, has quickly distinguished itself with a fourth component which was a well-deserved success, others have also tried to follow this example. SNK has tried his luck with a King of Fighters XII unconvincing but the firm does not mean throwing in the towel and already preparing the thirteenth episode of the license. The Studio Arc System Works, creators of Guilty Gear, certainly better managed this transition to HD machines delivering a Blazblue simply sumptuous. Capcom does not count as being overtaken by its competitors and is today launching the offensive-cons in the form of a supercharged version of Street Fighter IV.

Capcom's approach has suffered some criticism. It has accused the Japanese company to offer us as quickly reviewed a version of its previous game, or even to consumers for cash cows. It is indeed surprising that such remarks do not receive the output of large licenses sports games that we keep coming back every year ... In the case of Super Street Fighter IV these criticisms seem a bit exaggerated: it is not at all a simple add-on for the previous component, the small guys at Capcom have striven to add characters and additional shots, but they also made a rebalancing of the gameplay and added new game modes This boosted version should not be followed by an even more boosted: it should not be any Super Turbo Street Fighter IV or even Super Street Fighter IV '. Besides, Capcom is already occupied since the firm is working on another license prestigious past: the third episode of Marvel vs. Capcom is under construction.

Gentle reminder to the attention of those who would have missed the Street Fighter IV: This is a fighting game that displays graphics in 3D cartoon look but offers a gameplay 2D relatively old school. This episode had some news anyway when compared to his elders. A gauge of Ultra Combo and his appearance was at the bottom of the screen next to the one dedicated to the Super Combo. The principle is simple: we need a fighter has received enough damage to initiate an Ultra, a particularly devastating attack. The other new Street Fighter IV was the ability to make Focus Attacks holding down kick and punch means. The attack has three levels of charge and you can take a punch, but only one, while you are preparing. We find of course the Ultra Combos and Attacks Focus in Super Street Fighter IV. Besides, the gameplay itself has not undergone considerable changes, but fans of the title released last year still appreciate the slight alterations made by the teams from Capcom.

So fans of the series will not take long to realize that the faculties of certain characters have borne the brunt of a little rebalancing. The amendments relate to the most glaring probably Sagat: The Bad Thai was certainly a bit too powerful in the original title, this fighter is now becoming a bit more human ... If you appreciate the fact that the characters have now a little more equal opportunity, we would have liked this also makes balancing the subject of a patch for owners of the original title. The second type of changes related to gameplay is a little more light: every fighter now has a second Ultra Combo. You must therefore choose one or the other before you launch headlong into a confrontation. These new attacks are not always useful mad: if the second Ultra Rufus is just as pest sucks the opponent into a vortex of hell, others seem ultimately more anecdotal but still make their share of spectacular actions.

Eventually the novelty of the most anticipated Super Street Fighter IV is adding a dozen fighters, bringing the cast to 35 participants. Most of these newcomers are headers already crossed. We can then find old friends like T. Hawk, India's huge, and Dee Jay, a Jamaican who has the rhythm in the skin. Those two have lost none of their punch from their appearance in Super Street Fighter II. Two of the heroes of Final Fight are back: Guy and Cody, he kept the handcuffs and the prison uniform he wore in Street Fighter Alpha 3. You can even play as Adon, a former pupil of Sagat, who had made his first appearance in Street Fighter as a sub-boss. Three soldiers also come directly from Street Fighter III: Dudley, the English boxer who fights more elegant than Balrog, Ibuki, the little ninja who is always so agile, and Makoto finally, the young karateka who has lost some of its aggressiveness in this last episode.

This inventory would not be complete without mentioning the two characters really unusual for this album: Juri and Hakan. The first is a fighter beating Korean art of Taekwondo, while the second is a Turkish wrestler who s'enduit body oil before embarking on his opponents. You can imagine, everything between these two protagonists, we even sometimes feel that Capcom had fun we replay the Beauty and the Beast. While Yuri is fast, it deploys a set of legs incredibly effective and is even able to dodge the blows, Hakan seeks instead the melee to use its array of beautiful mugs. The latter techniques are also the most puzzling: it is capable of watered oil in the middle of the fight for the blows of his opponent and inflict less damage to its own attacks more effective. Special mention to Ultra Combos of this giant oil: it humiliates the other contestant literally dragging his body ...

The traditional game modes have also undergone some changes. We note the return of the bonus stages in arcade mode: it is simply to distribute the mandala to reverse a car explode or a series of barrels hoping to get a little extra points. This addition is not essential but it undoubtedly recall some good memories for fans of the license. Similarly, we find that the Challenge mode has undergone some changes and it is now possible to train on the different techniques of a character without having to follow a predetermined program. But ultimately the most important transformations affect the online mode. Indeed, it is now possible to create private rooms for up to eight players on a simple principle: Those who do not watch the game play as mere spectators. The registration and classification of replays has also been simplified way. History does not spoil, a Tournament mode will be available free for download from 15th June. In short, you will understand, given its attractive price and therefore its contents, Super Street Fighter IV is simply a must for all fans of fighting games.
